i called today. the list of everything wrong:
oil cooler repair: $497
coolant reservoir: $102.60
radiator flush: $138.60
vacuum leak: $123
throttle body cleaning: $170
front brake pad replacement: $349
front left cv boot replacement: $192
timing belt: $1218
TOTAL FOR EVERYTHING: $2790.20
Total to get it back on the road: 738.20
screw the vacuum leak and cleaning the TB. screw the CV joint and brake pads. and the timing belt will have to wait a few weeks.... (if the timing belt breaks i bend valves and the engine is DOA)
should be fixed tomorrow! :)

ewww that a lot, didn't you just get that car?
well right at 2 years ago. i could have bought a 3 year 45k mile warranty for $1800 when i bought the car - but since i'm at 48k since i bought it, i'd been out 1800 plus what it's going to cost to fix it...
