I've seen this idea in some homes and liked it, but I think I'm with chris on the sheer amount of open wall space making it look odd. Maybe other people had more tall furniture, lower ceilings, something? If you're looking to cover lots of space, another idea that looks cool is framed photos hanging from ribbon on nice curtain rods (Lynda R. has this in her house down the hall from the living room to kitchen). This doesn't look as good as Lynda's, but but "Link it Up" with chain is pretty cool

kinda bunched up all in one little spot leaving a lot of open wall space. I say bad unless there is a more suitable wallspace.
